Hero Selections (Start Here)
Visit the List of Western Heroes page and select one of the Western archetypal heroes.
Visit the List of Non-Western Heroes page and select one of the Eastern archetypal heroes.
Hero Detailed Summaries: Part 1
Go to the Western Heroes Discussion forum, and post a new thread, in which you write an explanatory paragraph(s) of approximately 250 words that includes the following information:
Identify the Western Hero that you selected.
Summarize the events of the archetypal hero’s story, the main story progression, and the outcome of the story for the hero. Include citations for the sources from which you got the information.
Explain whether or not you can relate to the archetypal hero that you selected, and why/not. Include supportive evidence from your own experience and from the sources where you got the information about the hero.
Explain how the Western archetypal hero and his/her story teach us something useful as human beings. Include supportive evidence from the sources where you got the information about the hero, from the textbook, and from your own experience.
Go to the Eastern Heroes Discussion forum, and post a new thread, in which you write an explanatory paragraph(s) of approximately 250 words that includes the following information:
Identify the Eastern Hero that you selected.

After you’ve completed the checkboxes above, return to the Western Heroes Discussion forum, and write a Reply of at least 200 words to one of your classmates’ posts that includes the following information:
Identify the Eastern Hero that you selected earlier.
Identify the main similarities between your classmate’s Western Hero and your Eastern Hero.
Identify the main differences between your classmate’s Western Hero and your Eastern Hero.
Explain the difference between the ideal Western Hero and ideal Eastern Hero as expressed by the two examples.
After you’ve completed the checkboxes above, return to the Eastern Heroes Discussion forum, and write a Reply of at least 200 words to one of your classmates’ posts that includes the following information:
